This is a favorite breakfast starter at Sunrise Landing, but works as a light dessert, as well.
4 large pears, peeled, cut in half and cored
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons Chambord (raspberry liquor)
6 tablespoons white wine
2 tablespoons blueberries
2 tablespoons raspberries
cheddar, bleu, or feta cheese or a dollop of whipped cream, to top
Place the pears cored side up in glass baking dish. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the pears. Pour Chambord and wine over them, and divide berries among pears. Cover and microwave on high for 10 minutes. Serve warm with sauce and a sprinkling of cheese or a dollop of whipped sweet cream. You can use fresh, frozen or dried berries for this recipe. Serves 4. Enjoy!
NOTE: Did you know that pears are a great source of dietary fiber? One pear provides 16 percent of the recommended daily allowance of fiber.

Now, More Great Restaurants in Finger Lakes Wine Country
Another one of the great things about the Finger Lakes is all of the wonderful places to eat. Even in the winter, when many of the best restaurants close down for a few weeks, or even months, there are many from which to choose. But, as spring approaches they all begin to open and the choices are unlimited. One of our favorite, very special places is Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine. It is about a 40 - 45 minute drive from Sunrise Landing Bed and Breakfast and is, without a doubt, worth the drive from just about anywhere. Beginning their eighth season on Friday, April 16, Suzanne will be open Friday through Sunday for dinner (summer hours will likely include Thursdays - check their website after June). They will also be open on Sundays for Tea, from Noon - 2 PM, serving scones, finger sandwiches, and freshly baked pastries. Suzanne's elegant teas are not to be missed. The Restaurant is a beautifully restored, 100 year old farm house, on the east side of the lake, 9013 Route 414, Lodi, New York – (607) 582-7545. Reservations are always recommended but for the teas, are required 24 hours ahead.
Frommer’s has named Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine one of the Ten Best places to dine in NY State.
